(The) Struggle Is Real

Everyday we face the unnecessary irony of the struggle it is to give to those who truly struggle.

There are a lot of nonprofits out there.

More than 1.5 million in the USA to be exact.

In Ohio, where POINT HQ is located, there were more than 37,000 nonprofits reported in 2013.

So when you want to find a charity to give your money and time to, where do you even begin? The numbers are overwhelming. It would take forever to sort through all these organizations.

Thankfully, POINT has your back!

We do that research for you so you don’t have to. Soon, finding a trustworthy, reliable, and effective nonprofit will be as easy as opening up the POINT app.

Without POINT app, the situation looks pretty different.

Say I have recently learned about malaria, and want to contribute to an organization that works to alleviate it. My first step is to, of course, Google it.

^ yikes…that’s a lot of results.

Ok. Lets just stay on the first page because it’s too overwhelming to continue beyond that.

Now I have to look up these organizations one at a time, and see if they are reputable and reliable.

10 minutes of basic research on each feels a little too brief. But before I know it, I’ve spent more than an hour just trying to find out the basics of each of these, completely ignoring any organizations who may be doing amazing, innovative work but just happen to have the misfortune of being on page 2 of Google’s results.

I’m tired, busy and don’t have time to do any more research. So, I pick one that seems best and proceed to navigate their website in an effort to find out how to give to them. I leave feeling frustrated and not very productive.

That kind of experience doesn’t make me want to give again. It is definitely not a very good use of my time, and may also be leaving out some organizations whose work is changing lives in remarkable ways.

Finding meaningful opportunities to serve and give shouldn’t be the struggle that you are confronted with.

True worldwide struggle is real, and so deserving of the access and awareness POINT will give you.

Let’s get giving.
