POINT wins top prize in Columbus pitch competition

So, for the past 14 weeks, our team at POINT has been up to something. If you don’t know us, POINT is a Columbus 501(c)(3) making it just as simple to volunteer as it is to order a pizza. Our app is the easiest way to volunteer ever and is available on iOS and Android

Our team has been a part of SEA Change – a social enterprise startup accelerator. An accelerator is a program where startups are given mentorship and connections to help them reach business milestones faster. SEA Change has been a perfect fit because they focus on startups who strive to create impact in communities, not companies who only exist to make a profit.

Suzy Bureau, Founder of GiveBackHack, announces prizes at Sea Change Columbus 2018.

Our SEA Change “semester” has been coming to an end, and the last assignment was to give a pitch, for cash. On Wednesday, our CEO, Madison Mikhail Bush, pitched POINT to numerous investors/do-gooders/businesspeople who care about growing Columbus social enterprises. These judges included: United Way, The Columbus Foundation, Raising Canes, Rev1, Social Ventures and Sea Change executives.

POINT was granted $36,900 to finish our development and partial funding to hire a partnerships manager to join the POINT team.

But we couldn’t have done that without you. To our loyal readers, our dedicated app users, and social media sharers – you make POINT worth investing in. Thanks to you, WE NOW HAVE 1000 PEOPLE ON POINT.

That’s amazing. There are so many people who want to #domoregood in Columbus. Be on the lookout for big things happening, POINT is taking off!

From all of us at POINT HQ, thanks for your support!

No guilt trips, no sad stories. Just a chance to do something good.
