Here's ways to help during COVID-19

When our city is hurting, the best of humanity shows up. POINT exists to help you do more good in our city - especially in times of crisis. We centralize all of our community’s emergency needs in one place, giving you a simple starting point to help out. There are ways to pitch in from the couch while social distancing, or if you can, there are nonprofits who need emergency volunteers.

During this crisis and after, when our communities have bounced back, we will be here. POINT is dedicated to supporting our city and nonprofit partners.

Donate masks to medical workers

Our critical health workers need protection as they continue to serve our communities. POINT has teamed up with Columbus-based company Aunt Flow to produce FDA-certified Medical 3-Layer Disposable Masks to health care workers at OhioHealth. Make a donation to cover the cost of production for these essential masks; simply select the number of masks you want to send to vital staff. All donations on POINT are tax-deductible.

Volunteer with critical needs

Even with stay-at-home orders in place, nonprofits serving critical needs are still open and in need of volunteers (yes, that’s still allowed!). POINT is your tool to connect to nearly 200 nonprofits in Columbus to find ways to help. At this time, the one most critical needs facing communities is food insecurity. As unemployment due to COVID-19 rises to the highest numbers since the Great Depression, the number of food-insecure families is on the rise as well. Nonprofits are scrambling to meet increased needs with a fraction of their typical volunteer force.
