Your free POINT dashboard helps you turn volunteers into donors with our micro-donation features, streamlines your fundraising management with our Kindful integration, and enables you to source and manage in-kind donations with our registry. All of your donations – yes, including the number and monetary value of in-kind items fulfilled on your registry – are tracked and shown in your “Donation Stats” on the dashboard so that you can see everything in one place.

A platform to donate
in-kind goods

Think of POINT’s In-Kind Giving Registry as the nonprofit version of a wedding registry. Just list specific items your nonprofit needs on the registry, and people can donate new or gently-used items to your organization. You can list anything: office supplies, surgical masks for volunteers, snacks for events, specific items you’re giving out to community members, etc. Our registry allows options for people to drop off items at your location, or ship them to you if they order online. You can even set funding goals where donors can contribute towards specific items! That’s especially helpful for items you can get cheaper through deals with certain stores to buy in bulk or get a nonprofit discount.

Coordinate donations
for disaster relief or emergency aid

Our in-kind registry is especially powerful during emergency situations for disaster relief. Nonprofits can list specific items needed by the communities they serve, then take care of distributing them. For example, after a natural disaster, you might add things like cases of bottled water, diapers and infant formula, food, clothing, furniture, pet food/care supplies, and more. You can even ask for funds to go towards hotel rooms for people who’ve lost their homes.

Or, you can ask for the things your organization needs to be able to serve your community in times of disaster. During the beginning of the COVID pandemic, many nonprofits used the in-kind registry to source donations of hand sanitizer, masks, gloves, and cleaning supplies so they could safely stay up and running.

Increase donor potential

After POINT launched the in-kind giving registry in 2020, nonprofits told us that donations increased about 4x on average compared to their typical calls-to-action about donating. People like to see where their money is going, and with the registry they know exactly how their money is being used and how their donation helps your nonprofit. People can also claim and drop off gently used items (think: office furniture, toys, books, etc.) to fulfill items on the registry. This gives a way for people to support your organization even if they aren’t in a situation where they can afford to
donate financially.

You might be thinking, “That sounds great, but how long is it going to take me to add all of these items to a registry?” We’ve got some time-saving tricks for ya 😉. You can add items manually, which is great for general items like permanent markers or cases of water, or you can download our free Google Chrome browser extension. This lets you add any item to your registry directly from sites like Amazon, Walmart, Target, and more. So no matter how you want to use the registry or what you want to list on it, you’ve got options.
