POINT Cancellation and No Show Policy

Overview

POINT is a platform that nonprofits use to find and manage volunteers. When you sign up to volunteer a nonprofit is counting on your help!

Cancellations

We understand life happens and plans change. If you need to cancel, please cancel as soon as you know you’re unable to attend, or at least 24 hours before the volunteer opportunity, so the nonprofit has the chance to fill your spot.

If you are canceling day of or running late, contact the organization with the contact information provided on the event description.

No Shows

Nonprofits track volunteer attendance through POINT for both in-person and virtual volunteer events or opportunities.

When you arrive to (or participate in) a volunteer opportunity, a nonprofit admin will either mark you as “Checked-in”, “Dismissed”, or “No Showed”. If your attendance is marked as “Pending”, the nonprofit admin has not yet assigned attendance statuses.

If you do not show up to volunteer as you confirmed, you will be marked as “No Show”. “No Shows” are tracked on POINT as No Show Ratings. No Show Ratings are shown on your volunteer profile and shared with the nonprofit. These ratings are also shared with a company or school you’ve joined (if applicable).

If a significant event has stopped you from attending, you can contact the nonprofit and ask to be marked as “Dismissed”. Once “Dismissed” there will be no consequence to your No Show Rating.

If you sign up for events without attending multiple times, POINT considers this spam, and your account will be suspended. POINT will make all judgments interpreting these policies, and all decisions are final.

Note: The POINT Cancellation and No Show Policy is not POINT’s Community Guidelines or Terms of Use.

No guilt trips, no sad stories. Just a chance to do something good.
