How do donations on POINT work?

We’re here for you, and we’re here for our community. We know volunteers often turn into donors and we want to make it really easy for volunteers to give a little extra when they’re already engaged with your mission.

How volunteers donate:

Volunteers are able to donate to your organization through the POINT app or dashboard.

How do fees work? 

When you donate, POINT Global (a 501c3 nonprofit), re-grants the donation funds to your selected nonprofit. Your donation is tax-deductible. Processing fees include a 2.2% + 30¢ card processing fee from Stripe and a separate 2% fee from POINT Technologies, which offers the POINT app and management dashboard entirely free to local nonprofits.

How does my organization receive funds?

Your organization will receive all donations given to your nonprofit in one large check at the end of every month. The check will be mailed your organization’s address as specified in your organization profile. Have questions? Need help? Let us know using the chatbox on the dash or at support@pointapp.org.

To access donor information, login to your POINT account. Take note that POINT is available to companies as a volunteer software, there could be a possibility that your donors could be corporate donors.

Donation stats & activity:

You can see your donation stats and activity to check out the volunteers that have supported your mission. You are able to report donations individual or group.

Note: This is a lite donor management system, great for tracking when volunteers turn into donors. If you already have a donor management system for major gifts – we highly recommend you keep using it.
